Whether you are a seasoned collector, a trade buyer or bidding for the first time, buying at London Auctions is straightforward. We hold monthly sales of 700 to 1,200 lots, and you can bid from anywhere in the world.
1. Find a sale and register
Our catalogues are hosted on EasyLive Auction. Create a free account, then register for the sale you are interested in. Upcoming sales are listed on our Buying at Auction page.
2. Live or timed?
- Live webcast sales – bid in real time as the auctioneer sells each lot, or leave your maximum bid in advance.
- Timed auctions – these run online for 7 days, typically Sunday to Sunday, and you can bid at any point during the week.
3. Check the lot
Every lot is photographed and described, but if you have a question about condition, ask us before you bid. Our team are always happy to provide a full condition report.
4. Know the fees
Our buyer’s premium is 18% + VAT on the hammer price (minimum £1.50 + VAT per lot), plus 3% + VAT for online bidding. On a £100 hammer price bid online, your invoice would be £125.20 plus any shipping. See our fees for full details.
5. Pay
Invoices are emailed once the sale has finished, and payment is due within 7 days by bank transfer (preferred), credit or debit card online or in person, or cash. We no longer accept cheques.
6. Collect or have it delivered
Collection is from Unit 6/7 Clyde Works, Clyde Road, Wallington, SM6 8PZ, on the two days immediately after each sale, 9am–5pm, or by appointment. Storage fees may apply after 7 days. Our packing team can wrap and dispatch almost anything in the UK or abroad – if you pay within 24 hours of the sale, we aim to ship within one working day. See our shipping page.
