Frequently Asked

Common questions about selling

How do I get my items to you?

Goods can be dropped off at our Wallington warehouse by appointment, or we can arrange a collection from your home. Our collection service starts from £45 + VAT depending on location and volume.

What happens after I consign my items?

We catalogue, photograph and list your lots. We will send you pre-sale information and you can track how your items are performing during the sale.

Do you do home visits?

Yes, we are happy to visit for larger collections across London and Surrey. Get in touch to arrange a convenient time.

How long does the process take?

From valuation to payment typically takes four to six weeks, depending on when the next auction takes place.

What can I sell at auction?

We sell a huge variety of goods through our monthly auctions, from traditional antiques to collectables from the 80s and 90s. This includes antique, mid-century and modern designer furniture, art, jewellery and watches, coins, silver, stamps, lighting, ceramics and glass, Moorcroft, Beswick and Royal Doulton, vintage toys, vinyl records, books, musical instruments, retro gaming, vintage audio-visual items, trading cards and luxury goods such as designer handbags, clothing, trainers and pens. If you are unsure whether something is suitable, get in touch for free advice.

Is there anything you cannot accept?

We are unable to accept beds and mattresses, modern furniture and sofas, white goods, general household goods, or low-end modern items. Electrical goods are only accepted if they are of good quality and PAT tested, or of collector’s value. If you are not sure, send us a photo and we will tell you.

Who will bid on my items?

Our buyer database reaches collectors, dealers and end users all over the world, not just in London and Surrey. Around 60% of the goods we ship stay within the UK and the rest go overseas. Every lot is properly photographed, and for more specialised items we can arrange advertising in relevant publications so they are seen by the right people.

Who sets the starting bids and reserves?

We recommend leaving starting bids and reserves to us, as we know the market and are realistic with our estimates. We always welcome input from vendors, and if we don’t think an item is best placed in one of our sales we will tell you and suggest other routes to market.

Where are you and how do I get there?

Our saleroom is at Unit 6/7 Clyde Works, Clyde Road, Wallington, Surrey, SM6 8PZ, conveniently between Central London and the M25. We are 10 minutes’ drive from Croydon and 15 minutes from Sutton. Wallington station is close by, 22 minutes from London Bridge and 40 minutes from London Victoria.

I live outside London and Surrey. Can I still sell with you?

Yes. You are welcome to post smaller items to us, or use our Send Us a Box service. Please let us know before sending and use a fully tracked and insured service.

What information do you need from me?

For compliance purposes we need your full name, address and contact details when you consign. Once your items have sold, we will need your bank details so we can pay you.
