About the Department

London's retro video game auctioneers

Boxed consoles and complete in box games from Nintendo, Sega and PlayStation are highly collectable. Even loose cartridges and consoles from the loft can add up.

Our retro gaming sales feature boxed consoles and rare cartridges from Nintendo 64, Sega Mega Drive, Sega Saturn, original PlayStation and Game Boy, along with complete-in-box titles and sealed stock. A boxed N64 or a rare, factory-sealed Sega title in genuinely mint condition can attract strong bidding, and our team know which factors, completeness, region and condition, actually move the price. Every lot is assessed in-house, drawing on real knowledge of what today’s retro gaming market is paying for.

If you want to sell retro games or consoles, whether a single boxed cartridge or a full childhood collection, London Auctions can help you unlock its full value. We offer free initial valuations with no obligation, and whether you choose to proceed with us or not, our team will give you honest, practical advice on the best route to market.

Sell With Us

Selling retro games with London Auctions

Whether it is iconic NES cartridges, limited edition titles or sought-after PlayStation classics, we will guide you from valuation to sale. Selling at auction often means more money in your pocket than selling direct to dealers.

Games, consoles and accessories for Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation, Xbox, Atari, Commodore, Sinclair and retro PC all sell well. Lesser-known titles can be more desirable than famous ones because of their rarity at auction.

Frequently Asked

Common questions

How do I get a free retro games or console valuation?

You can get a free valuation four ways: visit our saleroom Monday to Friday (8:30am-4:30pm) or at our valuation mornings every other Saturday, send photos via WhatsApp for the fastest response, submit an online request with photos and a description, or post smaller items to us free of charge. One of the team reviews your items in person or from photos and responds within one working day, with no obligation to consign.

What sort of retro games and consoles do you sell?

We sell retro games and consoles including boxed Nintendo 64, Sega Mega Drive and Saturn, original PlayStation and Game Boy titles, along with sealed stock and rare cartridges. We also handle full estate and probate collections, from a single boxed item to an entire childhood collection.

How much does it cost to sell?

Our fee structure is simple: a £1.50 + VAT lotting fee per item, plus 18% + VAT commission on the hammer price. For example, £1,000 worth of items sold would net you £784 after commission, excluding the lotting fee. There’s never a charge for the initial valuation, whether or not you go ahead.

When will I receive payment?

Once your items sell and all buyers have settled their invoices, we process payment by bank transfer within 21 days of the sale ending.

Should I get my games graded?

The better the condition, the more desirable items are to collectors. Sometimes we may suggest sending items to a professional grader to make sure they achieve the best price.
