About the Department

London's watch auctioneers

Rolex, Omega, TAG Heuer and vintage pocket watches are checked by our team before sale. A TAG Heuer Monaco sold for £2,128, and boxes and papers add real value.

Our watch sales feature luxury and vintage timepieces from Rolex, Omega and other leading Swiss houses, along with gold watches and pocket watches spanning decades of horological history. Every lot is assessed by our in-house team, who understand the difference original papers, box and movement condition can make to value.

If you want to sell watches, whether a single luxury timepiece or an inherited collection, London Auctions can help you unlock its full value. We offer free initial valuations with no obligation, and whether you choose to proceed with us or not, our team will give you honest, practical advice on the best route to market.

Frequently Asked

Common questions

How do I get a free watch valuation?

You can get a free valuation four ways: visit our saleroom Monday to Friday (8:30am-4:30pm) or at our valuation mornings every other Saturday, send photos via WhatsApp for the fastest response, submit an online request with photos and a description, or post smaller items to us free of charge. One of the team reviews your watch in person or from photos and responds within one working day, with no obligation to consign.

What sort of watches do you sell?

We sell watches including luxury and vintage timepieces from Rolex, Omega and other leading Swiss houses, along with gold watches and pocket watches. We also handle full estate and probate collections, from a single luxury timepiece to an inherited collection.

How much does it cost to sell?

Our fee structure is simple: a £1.50 + VAT lotting fee per item, plus 18% + VAT commission on the hammer price. For example, £1,000 worth of watches sold would net you £784 after commission, excluding the lotting fee. There’s never a charge for the initial valuation, whether or not you go ahead.

When will I receive payment?

Once your watch sells and all buyers have settled their invoices, we process payment by bank transfer within 21 days of the sale ending.

Is commission negotiable on high-value watches?

Our basic rate is 18% + VAT commission, but we are happy to negotiate on higher-value watches and collections, and we will give you a clear breakdown of fees before you agree to sell.
