Frequently Asked

Common questions about buying

Can you ship multiple lots together?

Yes, multiple lots can be combined into one or more parcels. For large orders we recommend getting in touch for an accurate shipping estimate before bidding.

Why did the auction end time extend?

Our timed sales have anti-sniping built in. Any bid placed in the last 5 minutes of a lot automatically extends that lot by a further 5 minutes, giving all bidders a fair chance.

What if I cannot collect within 7 days?

We are flexible and happy to hold paid items. Please let us know in advance. Storage fees may apply if extended storage becomes a regular occurrence.

Where do I collect from?

Unit 6/7 Clyde Works, Clyde Road, Wallington, Surrey, SM6 8PZ. We are 10 minutes from Croydon and 15 minutes from Sutton.

When do I need to pay?

Invoices are emailed once the hammer falls on the final lot. Payment is due within 7 days of the auction ending, by bank transfer (preferred), credit or debit card online or in person, or cash. We no longer accept cheques.

How much will I pay on a £100 hammer price?

Bidding online, your invoice would be £125.20 plus any shipping charges. This is made up of the 18% + VAT buyer’s premium and the 3% + VAT online bidding fee.

How quickly will my items be shipped?

When invoices are paid within 24 hours of the sale ending, we aim to ship within one working day. Invoices paid later can take up to 14 days to ship. High value items are always sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery or a fully insured courier.

Is there a charge for packing fragile items?

Invoices containing fragile items incur a £9.95 + VAT packing charge per box. We reserve the right to refuse to ship any item we are not confident will travel well.

Can I send my own courier?

Yes. You are welcome to send a courier or third party to collect purchased lots on your behalf once your invoice has been paid. Please let us know in advance.

I am having trouble bidding or paying. Who can help?

Call or email the office and we will do our best to help. If it is a platform issue, we will put you in touch with the bidding platform’s technical support team.
