From Initial Valuation, to the sale of your assets to ensuring your proceeds are paid to you swiftly. Our friendly and knowledgeable team are able to assist with the valuation and sale of a wide array of goods, including antiques, art, jewellery, watches, mid-century furniture, collectables, toys and much more.

Initial Valuation

We recommend getting in touch with us to discuss the items you wish to sell at auction, we offer free initial advice. If you can send us photographs of the items in question it makes the whole process much quicker. In some cases we may request that you bring your items in on a valuation day for closer inspection in person. For larger collections we are able to come out and visit you at your property if that is your preference.

Arranging Drop Off/Collection of Goods

If you are happy with our valuation then the items can be entered into an upcoming auction. You will need to either drop the items off to our warehouse or call us to arrange a time for us to send a team to collect them from your home. We will need to take some basic details from you and will issue you with a receipt for the goods which we receive.

Relax - we will take it from here

At this stage you can relax and leave us to deal with the sale of your items. We deal with the descriptions, photography and dispatch of the items once they are sold. You don’t have to lift a finger! We recommend that you leave us to work out starting bids and reserves however always welcome input from the vendors to ensure peace of mind! We will send pre sale advice before the auction and also details of how you can keep an eye on how your items are doing in the sale. Once the goods are sold we pay out the proceeds within ten days via bank transfer.

What do London Auctions Sell?

We sell a huge variety of goods through our monthly auctions. We pride ourselves on producing a diverse monthly catalogue with everything from traditional antiques to collectables from the 80s & 90s. Goods that we sell at Auction include but are not limited to the following:

How do I get my Goods to your Auction Rooms?

Goods can be dropped off at our Auction in Wallington by appointment. We are 10 Minutes’ Drive from Croydon & 15 minutes’ drive from Sutton. We are conveniently located between Central London and the M25. Wallington is the closest train station to us with great connections. We are 22 minutes from London Bridge and 40 minutes from London Victoria. 
We also offer an in-house collection service. We can send a van with 2 members of staff to collect your goods from your home. This is a chargeable service based on where the collection is from and how much is to be collected. Our minimum charge for this service is £45 + VAT.
We also welcome sellers from outside of our service area of London & Surrey to post smaller items to us. If you choose to do this, please ensure that you make us aware beforehand and choose and fully tracked and insured service. 

What sort of bidders do your auctions attract?

We have a buyer database which contains buyers from all over the world. We regularly ship goods internationally and usually 60% of our goods are shipped within the UK. It isn't just London & Surrey based buyers who bid on our auctions. We ensure that any goods we consign are photographed sufficiently. With more specialised goods we can arrange necessary advertising in relevant publications to ensure that these goods are seen by the correct people. With our auction being online based we can ensure that your goods achieve the best price possible.

What charges are there as a seller and how do we get paid?

At London Auctions we have a very simple commission structure. Our charges for selling items are as follows:
* £1.50 + VAT lotting fee for smalls or a £5 + VAT lotting fee for furniture
* 18% + VAT commission 
* If you were to sell £1000 worth of items you would end up with £784 (excl. lotting fees)
We make payment to vendors by bank transfer within 14 days of the sale ending. Once all buyers have settled their invoices, we begin to process payments.

What details do you need to take from us once we enter goods into your auction?

In order to sell your goods at auction we need to take a few details from you for compliance purposes. We will need your full name, address, contact details and once the goods are sold we will need your bank details in order to pay you.

What items don’t you sell in your auction?

Unfortunately, due to lack of demand we are unable to accept the following goods for auction:
* Beds & Mattresses 
* Modern Sofas
* White Goods (unless a part of a larger consignment)
* Low end modern items
* Electrical Goods (unless of good quality and PAT Tested or of collector’s value)

How do we get paid for any items we sell at auction?

We make payment via bank transfer within 14 days of the auction ending.

Do you do home visits for valuations?

Yes we are happy to come and and view larger collections in person in the London & Surrey areas.
